Message from
Father Roderick O'Brien

Welcome to the website of the Lefevre Catholic Community. If we can’t meet face-to- face, at least we can meet electronically.

The people of our Lefevre Catholic Community are part of the global Catholic Church community. We are followers of Jesus Christ, in the Catholic tradition. Please read on to know about our spirituality and prayer, our community activities, and many other good items of information.

The Lefevre Catholic Community is a parish within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide. Geographically, we serve the people of the Lefevre Peninsula in the north-west of Adelaide. Our parish includes all Catholics resident on the peninsula – even if you haven’t participated in our activities for a long time, you are still welcome.

Blessings to you and your family,

Fr Roderick

Seminarian
Joins our Parish for 2022

My name is Josh McDermid and I am a fourth-year seminarian for the Archdiocese of Adelaide.

Growing up in the Golden Grove area, I attended  St Francis Xavier’s Catholic School and Gleeson College, but did not begin regularly practising the  Catholic faith until after I participated in the Sydney World Youth Day when I was 18.

Prior to entering the  seminary in 2019, I was a teacher in Catholic secondary schools, most recently as English and Literacy  Coordinator at Cardijn College, Noarlunga Downs.

Outside of education and religion, I have an  interest in lawn bowls, tennis, and supporting the Port Adelaide Football Club.

After three years of predominantly academic study at Corpus Christi College seminary in Melbourne, often removed from parishes, schools, and nursing homes due to lockdowns, I am particularly looking forward to being part of this parish and the broader Lefevre Peninsula community during 2022.
